This is a list of “must haves” & recommendations for your puppy. Each item will make their transition into your home smooth for both you and your new addition.

Kennel/Crate
Kennel/Crate training your puppy is so important, not just for their safety but it also helps with potty training and can be their safe zone as they outgrow the playpen.

Snuggle Puppy
We call the litter snuggle pup “Sir Cuddles”. These are lifelines to bringing home your puppy, they come with a heating pack and heartbeat. It comforts your pup while transitioning to his new home without all of his siblings.
Ear Cleaning Solution
Doodles are notorious for ear infections. They have those adorable floppy ears, which can trap moisture so easily. Keeping them clean and dry helps prevent infection. We highly recommend this ear clearer. It was given to us in adjunction from our vet when one of our dogs had an ear infection and they recommended regular use of it.
Bully Stick Holder
This is ESSENTIAL if you are going to give your pup a bully stick. It ensures that he or she can not swallow it once it gets small and protects them from choking. We never give a bully stick without the bully buddy! These can be purchased directly from the Amazon link in the picture or from AK Bark.
Neater Feeder
Let’s be real, doodles are MESSY eaters, water ends up splashed all over, food pieces scattered around the floor. This is the solution, water splashed are contained, food pieces stay within the bowl system and your floors stay clean! It’s an amazing feeding solution.
Doc Roy’s Probiotic & Prebiotic Supplement
We give this to all of our puppies, which helps to maintain a healthy GI tract and also prevent allergies. It is amazing and puppy approved!!!
Dental Care
You may think this is silly, but trust me, if you don’t take care of your puppy’s teeth, you’ll end up paying for that in the long run with expensive dental cleanings from your vet! Plus who likes stinky dog breath anyways?! Hahaha!
Collagen Sticks
Collagen sticks are perfect for once your puppy starts to chew through bully sticks quickly. They are still safe for their digestive system but harder to chew, so last a bit longer! Also if bully sticks cause your pup any GI issues, these are the perfect alternative!
Snuggle Bed
After having many dog beds, we have found this to be a favorite for all our pups! These beds are super soft, cuddly and very inviting for a puppy.
Dyne
This is an extra nutritional food supplement that your pups are started on during the weaning process. Doodles tend to run on the thinner side and this ensures that they are getting the calories that their growing little bodies need. It also helps prevent hypoglycemia due to the stress of leaving their littermates.
Line Comb
These combs, also referred to as poodle combs, are so important to maintaining your doodle’s hair and are an essential grooming tool. They help to prevent tangling from tip of the hair root.
Nutrical
Nutrical is the perfect extra vitamin supplementation to offer your pup on a daily basis. This will be given to your pups before they go home. We still give our adult dogs this, they think it’s the world’s greatest vitamin and will stand at the kitchen counter eagerly awaiting their daily dollop.
Nail Clippers
These small nail clippers are the perfect thing to use from the very start of bringing your pup home. It is so important to keep up on nail trims. If the nails get too long, it can be hard on their joints and also cause the nail quake to grow longer.
Nail Grinder
We love using a nail grinder, it’s easier because it gradually files the nail down, making you less likely to cut too short. It also takes away the sharp edge dog nails can get with normal clippers.
Slicker Brush
Before you click on the link and see the price tag, let me say, I was a skeptic. Couldn’t there be some other slicker brush that would work well. Let me tell… This brush is like magic, it gets mats and tangles better than any other slicker brush I’ve ever used (and I’ve used lots!).
Rescue Disinfectant
Looking for something that will kill things like Parvo & Kennel Cough or other tough to kill viruses that could harm your puppy - this is it!!! We use this to clean our kennel & playpen area! It is veterinary used and recommended!
Poop Bags
Wonder how we are constantly cleaning up the waste in the litterbox?! Poop bags to the rescue! These are our favorite poop bags and highly encourage having them on hand when your puppy comes home!
Elevated Pet Bed
These are perfect on those warm summer days for the dogs that are generally warm or you know for those toddlers in your life 😂.
Salmon Oil
Salmon oil is a great addition to any dog’s diet, we start the puppies on this during the weaning process, so they come home already loving it! *Pro tip: there is such a thing as too much of a good thing, be cautious to not over give salmon oil as it can cause loose stools.
Shampoo & Conditioner
We LOVE all Chris Christensen grooming products and use it on all our dogs & grooming clients. They also have scented shampoo & conditioner, as well as dog cologne. This one is tear free - perfect for your new puppy.
Pro-tip: If you’re struggling with dry skin on your pup, try using Head N’ Shoulders 2-1 Shampoo & Conditioner (we love the apple scented one).
Bully Sticks
Our dogs LOVE LOVE LOVE bully sticks! They are the perfect thing to occupy them for a bit.
Harness
A harness is so important for once your pup is able to explore the outside. We highly recommend the Julius K9 Harness.
Puppy Food
Every puppy needs to continue on with the food we have been giving them, to ensure an easy transition and no runny poops. Acana wholesome grains puppy sea & farm recipe (this is CHICKEN free) can be found at Amazon, Petco and Chewy.
Bully Slices
These are a FAV for all of our litters!!! They’re perfect for teething puppies, before graduating to bully sticks!
Sojos Freeze Dried Lamb Treats
If you need to train your pup or motivate them in ANYWAY, these are the key! Our amazing trainer has tested MANY treats over the years and these are 1000000% doodle tested and approved!!!
Snuffle Mat
Snuffle mats help provide mental stimulation and exercise! We use this as an exposure activity when raising your puppy and highly recommend having one on hand for those times your pup needs to burn some extra energy.
Playpen
We highly encourage every new puppy family to purchase a playpen. It creates a safe environment for your puppy when you can not have constant eyes on him or her. It also is their “haven”; it’s a place they can go to rest and feel protected as they transition to their new life with you. *Extra note: we have used many different playpens and have found the height of this one to be perfect from those pups who like to practice their escape artist acts.
Playpen
This playpen is excellent for medium to standard size puppies. Very sturdy and hard for puppies to climb to escape.
Reusable Puppy Pee Pads
These are super absorbent and the perfect overlay for your puppy playpen to help minimize mess that may get tracked out of the litter box.
Flooring
We absolutely love this flooring, it is easy to clean up and keeps any messes from damaging your floor. We use this same flooring in our puppy whelping room. It is amazing!
Blow Dryer
Have you ever had to blow dry a dog with your own personal blow dryer? It was time consuming and exhausting right? This blow dryer is worth it’s weight in gold, it decreases drying time exponentially and leaves your doodle with that fresh, fluffy look we all know and love! Every puppy will leave having been introduced to this several times before going home with you.
Nylabones
If you’ve ever had a puppy you know, just how much they chew. These puppy nylabones are so helpful as they’re teething. They even make ones for strong chewers once your dog is full grown. They are another favorite in our house!
Wobble Wag Ball
Every puppy needs a few toys to entertain themselves with. The wobble wag ball is a hit with all the pups and dogs in our house.
Potty Tray with Grate
After 3 years of raising puppies, we have finally found a solution to puppies not sleeping in litterboxes!!! This is the midsize grate that we use for minis, for mediums & standards ask for the links to the larger grates! We will never use open litterboxes again!!!

Grooming Shears
Our go to grooming shears from Chris Christensen, the curved shears and thinning shears are a huge help when cutting doodle hair.
